Conditioner – What You Shouldn’t Be Using

While our real hair extensions are made from the finest hair, the extensions have been removed from their host source. You want to use good conditioner when washing your Pelo Hair Los Angeles hair extensions. This said, there are some rather harsh conditioners available on the market that you need to stay clear of. These conditioners are listed below:

1. Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Conditioner, $3.99. This product tends to dull out hair and not shine it up. Plus, it creates knots, not “tousles”.

2. Nexxus Keraphix Restorative Strengthening Conditioner, $18.99. This is a mid-level conditioner, just under twenty dollars. This conditioner is a good reason why price point doesn’t matter. It promises to repair and soften hair. It doesn’t. In fact, it makes hair more brittle but this only shows the next day. There seems to be a flaw in the formula according to many of our clients.

3. Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Conditioner, $6.99. Many people like this brand because it smells good and it is organic. However, for hair extensions, it isn’t ideal. It has a sticky feel to it, which leaves hair easily died out. There hasn’t been anything good on the internet composed about this conditioner.

The Oscars 2013

The Oscars 2013 was horrible when it came to great hair. I understand it was windy, but c'mon- it is the OSCARS! The winner for best hair and most beautiful has to be Jessica Chastain. Her hair was flowing and wasn't bothered by the wind. Now, her length may have had some extra help with natural extensions, such as these (click here), but that doesn't mean it wasn't any less extraordinary!

Our Brazilian Hair product line is perfect for mirroring Jessica Chastain's look. Why? It long, always looks healthy and it is easy to take care of!

When people do buy Brazilian hair, the #1 question is how to wash it. Well, below are Pelo Hair Los Angeles' tips!

Make sure hair is completely combed through and detangled before washing.

Wash with cool to warm water. Excessing heat will lead harm the hair in the lon run.

Make sure hair is being washed in ONE direction (from scalp to ends) and avoid circular motions! This can lead to tangling.

Always use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

When conditioner is on the hair, leave it on for approximately five minute, then comb through the hair starting from the ends. Rinse thoroughly.

Squeeze out excess water and blow dry gently. Do not towel rub or twist the hair to dry.

Below are just a few photos of the great Oscar looks you can obtain through natural hair extensions!
