Are Extensions Bad for Your Hair?

There is a myth running around the beauty world that hair extensions, real or fake, are bad for your natural hair and scalp. Well, this is wrong. Hair extensions will only damage your natural hair and scalp if they are applied wrong or not taken care of. Like any cosmetic procedure, upkeep is crucial and how the application process proceeds is even more important.

If you buy hair extensions with my company, Pelo Hair Los Angeles, or any other company- the key is to have a professional apply the extensions. According to Allure.com, “Professionals should have undergone training; this is not something you want to have done at your local nail salon. And you should go back to your stylist for maintenance at least once a month. The stylist will make sure that the extensions are on properly, and if one is pulling at the hair, they'll remove it and reapply it the proper way. They can also rotate the areas that they put the hair extensions on so it's not the same group of hairs under stress every time. Rotating means less damage to the hair follicles. “

Clip-in hair extensions also don’t pull as much as other extensions. If you have a super sensitive scalp, or prior damage, then this may be a good option. Again, no one type of extension is better than the other re: damage. In fact, damage is very minimal when hair extensions are applied correctly and well cared for.

Curly Indian Virgin Hair Extensions

Many of you have questions about our curly Indian Virgin Hair extensions. Well, the details and photos are listed on the Pelo Hair website. However, I wanted to talk a little more about why this product is so popular. So, I figured today's blog post would be a great way to accomplish this. http://www.pelo-hair.com/#!curly-indian-hair-/c1duj

Curly Indian Hair comes from the temples in India. The hair we source is of the highest quality and is in its virgin state. Curly Indian Hair has a texture from silky wave to tight curls. The natural color varies from light brown to black. We have it available in color 1b, which is a muted black. My company sell's hair by the ounce and by the bundle. Bundles contain aprox. 3.5 ounces of hair.

Indian hair and curly Indian hair is popular because of its texture. I have women of all ethnic backgrounds buy this hair, but it is more popular within the African American community. The curly version of this hair is natural and ethically-sourced, which means the curl texture can’t be promised. Sometimes the hair comes in with a loose curl and other times with a very tight curl. If you are seeking a specific texture simply call me. I can seek out hair of this type to meet your specific texture needs.
