3 Ways Your Damaging Your Hair Extensions

I was recently asked if it is possible to ruin human hair extensions. I was puzzled. Why would it NOT be possible was the first thing I thought to myself. Human hair is human hair. The person who asked me the question explained the hair was “dead” because it was removed from the host and already killed so damage couldn’t happen. Well, this isn’t true at all. You can always remove hair that has been removed from the host.

Ways to ruin your hair extensions:

1. Cheap brushes. First, brushing hair extensions should be minimal. Don’t apply the 100 strokes rule every night. Second, cheap brushes can knot hair or tear it. If you buy gold standard hair extensions then spend the extra money for a quality brush.

2. Perms. Sure, they are on their way back into style but they can damage hair in a big way. If you want curly hair, buy naturally curly hair extensions or a wig. Perms have to be redone every four to six months and it is a heavy process. Avoid the damage by using hot rollers, a curling iron or buying already curly hair.

3. Too much shampoo. You do not need to wash hair extensions every day or every other day. You should only wash your hair extensions when dirty or every other week. Even once a week is better than once a day. Too much washing of hair (extensions or not) will dry out and damage your mane.

Until next time,

Summer Wedding Hair - Hot Trends for 2013.

June and July weddings are on the rise for 2013. Wedding planners are stating that more and more women are choosing to get married in the summer, where years past it was the spring. Another trend that is emerging is long bridal hair. Years past women would request fancy or simple up dos. Either simple or intricate, a bride's hair has been traditionally off of her shoulders in years past. 2013 is going to be different. Women are requesting long, simple hair to mirror short simple gowns.

At Pelo Hair Los Angeles our owner Niki Motz as noticed an increase in bridal orders. "We provide free phone consultations to everyone, including brides. This helps women select the right hair for their current or desired look," said Motz. Plus, our company offers layaway.

We source bridal hair from temples in India. We dub our Indian hair as "bridal hair" because of its wavy and silky texture. The hair can be worn natural, or you can flat iron or curl it. It is perfect worn as long flowing locks, especially on one's wedding day. You can view our Indian hair by clicking here: http://www.pelo-hair.com/#!indian-hair-/c1ycn
