Thanksgiving Hair

We're back, straight from the Latin GRAMMY gifting suite. So, what are you doing for holiday hair this Thursday? We have some suggestions! Keep reading....

Try adding length. If you have family members coming into town that you haven't seen in a while, adding length to your hair will make your appearance pop. We have many different types of top-quality hair extensions, all of which can be applied in a variety of different methods. You can talk with your stylist today, order tonight and have the hair on by Thursday. How great is this?

Adding color using hair extensions is amazing, too. It requires no commitment and you can add it (or remove it) at any time. Dark brown highlights or bleached blonde thick streaks are making a comeback this holiday season.

Avoid the Miley; Regrow Hair with Hair Extensions!

Miley Cyrus chopped her hair off. Some of us love it, some of us hate it. Either way, at some point Miley will grow tired of her short hair and merge into a horrible regrowth phase - and this can be an ugly, ugly phase. You know, when you're hair is neither short nor long and you can't do a thing with it. That's when hair extensions can really help!

If you, like Miley, have short hair and want to grow it out- don't panic. We have tons of solutions to help you take your hair from super short to medium to long without sporting an embarrassing "in between" styles.

Our product recommendations are:

1. Brazilian Hair.

Brazilian Hair varies from silky and straight to wavy and more texturized. The natural color of the Brazilian hair ranges from a light brown color to an off black. The hair is thicker on the ends and has a beautiful natural shine. This hair can be curled or flat ironed. This hair looks great on just about anyone and can easily be applied at the salon.

2. Peruvian Hair.

Peruvian hair texture is rare, making it a high-end product. This hair It is very soft and versatile. All of Peruvian hair, with the exception of the dyed colors, is rare "European" virign hair.

Of course, we do have other hair products but these two are our best-selling hair extensions and look great when growing out short hair or thickening up long hair.

If you have a photo of yourself now and where you want your hair to be tomorrow, send it to us. We can recommend types of hair, color, styles and more. You can find the upload form here: http://www.pelo-hair.com/#!upload-your-photos-/c22i1

July Hair Extension Trends!

July is here, finally! The trend for hair this month is long, beach waves. But, what if you have short to medium hair? You don't have to commit to a hot wig or traditional hair extensions. We here at Pelo Hair Los Angeles offer Tape / Skin Weft hair. You can easily self apply it or have it applied at your salon. This type of hair extension is double-sided and is applied directly to your own hair, creating long and flowing locks that can be easily removed with oil.

If you have a photo of what you would like to look like , you can also upload it directly on our website along with your current photo (front and back of your head), and we can recommend what length of tape hair would be best for you.

Tape hair is easy to apply and care for. It is one of our best-selling products. Again, all of our hair is always ethically-sourced.

Until next time,

How to curl hair extensions .

Here at Pelo Hair Los Angeles, we often are asked if it is ok to curl our hair extensions. Yes, in fact- it is always ok to curl human hair extensions (pending there isn't a special treatment) or straighten them. Here are some tips when styling your hair extensions.

Make sure you brush the hair and remove any tangles or knots.

Although not required, we recommend you spray a thermal heat protectant over the extensions and comb the product through.

Heat your curling iron on medium high heat.

Curl the hair how you would normally curl (or straighten) your own hair.

That's it! You're done.

The Best Hair Sprays for Hair Extensions.

Yes, you can use hair spray on hair extensions- that is if they are human hair extensions. We here at Pelo Hair Los Angeles are in the phase of product development. However, until we get our product line on the market- here are some of our hair spray recommendations for hair extensions.

Aveda Controlforce Firm Hold Hair Spray. This product is amazing. It is light and dries quickly. It is also super soft and holds well. It really is the perfect hair spray. A natural corn derivative prevents flaking, and the rose, bergamot, and lavender scent is a plus.

Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray. This hair spray performs double duty. It holds hair well and it shines hair without making it look greasy or dirty. This hair spray is packed with Vitamin E, so you may have to wash your hair extensions more often- but the product is worth a try.

We also love Garnier Fructis Style Sleek & Shine Anti-Humidity Hairspray. This hair spray is perfect for people living down south and who also wear hair extensions. If you wear curly hair extensions then try this product for sure. It prevents curls from frizzing out and is still gentle on your locks.

If you have questions about a specific product that isn't on this list, please contact us via Twitter. We are always happy to help!

Zebra Hair

We have Zebra Hair extensions and Bangin' Bangs. These hair accessories are an important part of remaining trendy and fashionable during 2013.

Trends are not just for teenagers, either. Many celebrities and professional women are adding bang clip-in products are animal print streaks to their manes. These accessories are a great way to try different looks, are kick-up current ones, without having to make a life-long commitment.

Bands, such as our Bangin' Bang products, were recently a hit at the 2013 Oscars. Jennifer Hudson and other celebrities wore the hair accessories to embellish their already stunning looks!

We are taking your questions, via Twitter, about our Bangin' Bang products and Zebra Hair extensions. In the meantime, check out these top hair-care tips for real hair extensions!

Always brush gently with one of the following:
- Wide tooth comb (ends only)
- Loop Brush (med-thick hair)
- Boar bristle brush (med-fine hair)

When blow-drying hair, blow downward with hair, not up into / against hair flow. Dry with fingers then style with a curling iron or flat iron if needed. It is stressful to the hair to do a lot of brushing while blow-drying, causing extension loss.

Always wet hair with tap water, apply conditioner and braid hair before swimming to help avoid tangling. If possible, avoid salt-water pools, which are terrible for extensions.
