Worst Hair Extension Videos

We’re calling some people out this blog post. Yes, the best of the worst hair extension videos online. We found some funny ones and wanted to share what NOT to do when using, wearing or applying hair extensions.

Niki Motz, Owner of Pelo Hair

1. Trying to remove these yourself. Why!

2. Weave gone bad... on the news!

3. More news, hair extensions gone wrong.... when applied wrong! One surgical center set up a PR story to promote themselves. Nice!

How to Ruin Hair Extensions

Even with quality products, it is possible to ruin your hair extensions if you don't take special care of them.

We put together some tips to ensure you are keeping your extensions in great condition. If you don't follow the steps below, you could possibly ruin your extensions!

Here are some specific tips to help you care for your extensions:

Human hair extensions can be treated as real hair, but do so more gently.

Use a special brush (often a loop brush) made just for extensions, so you don't damage the new hair or the bond. And make sure to brush but not often.

A gentle shampoo is recommended, and use cool water to help minimize tangles. We sell special shampoo at the store and online but a gentle drugstore shampoo also works.

A light conditioner will help reduce tangling and keep your new hair supple. Don't over condition the hair or it will look greasy, like any hair would.

Sleep with your hair in a ponytail or braid to avoid bed-head and knots. Again, you don't want to over brush the hair.

If you party in your hair, sleep in your hair without keeping it tied together, or you spent hours brushing it- the hair will become damaged- as would your own hair- and your extensions could even be ruined.

Do You Need A New Hairstyle?

We here at Pelo Hair Los Angeles take pride in selling the BEST and most ethically-sourced hair extensions. In fact, we have celebrity fans and our products are sold in Beverly Hills, California. Speaking of celebrities, we want to talk about the celebrity short hair trend right now. The ‘Miley’ Cyrus haircut seems to be hotter than ever. So, what happens when it is time to move on to something else? Do you deal with the grow out of the hair style or do you add extensions.

There is no right or wrong answer but hair extensions can be added to make your hair shoulder length, not just super long. Here are a few popular shoulder length hair trends for 2014:

First is the shag cut with bangs.

Because there are so many layers associated with this haircut, it is the perfect style to add in length and grow out the ‘Miley’. You can add chunky bang extensions, or simply grow out your own bangs comfortably with this look.

This chunky bob allows enough layers to add in hair extensions without an obvious statement.

You can gradually grow your hair out with this look, which also adds a younger appearance to any style.

Finally, there is the gradual A-line bob.

You may not be able to do an A-line when you start to grow out your hair. However, extensions only in the front can give way for the illusion of a true A-line bob.

2014 Summer Hair Color Trends

Pelo Hair Los Angeles offers amazing dyed products in addition to our virgin hair extensions. We have dyed Brazilian hair, dyed Malaysian hair, and tape hair offered in a variety of colors. Since the summer of 2014 is creeping up, and since it will be the year of multi-colored hair, I’ve decided to provide a few hair trend tips below! –Niki Motz, owner of Pelo Hair Los Angeles

Multi-Toned hair will be BIG

In the days of past, hair was either all one color (even if it was pink) or two-toned. Well, summer of 2014 is going to be the year of multi-toned. Mixed blondes and browns in various shades is the new thing. You can achieve this look by adding multiple tape hair products to your own locks. Or you can add one type of extension on top of your already two-toned dyed hair. The choices are endless. Here is a link to our tape hair extensions: http://www.pelo-hair.com/#!undetectable-tape-hair/c6mb

Gold Leaf hair is also going to be popular. What is Gold Leaf hair?

Think multi-colored hair meets a subtle ombre trend meets super curl! Yes, shades of dark blonde, light brown mixed together with big time curls and a lot of volume. This trend is HUGE in London right now and making its way to the USA in the Summer of 2014. For this look we recommend our Brazilian dyed hair. Curly Indian Virgin Hair Extensions

Many of you have questions about our curly Indian Virgin Hair extensions. Well, the details and photos are listed on the Pelo Hair website. However, I wanted to talk a little more about why this product is so popular. So, I figured today's blog post would be a great way to accomplish this. http://www.pelo-hair.com/#!curly-indian-hair-/c1duj

Curly Indian Hair comes from the temples in India. The hair we source is of the highest quality and is in its virgin state. Curly Indian Hair has a texture from silky wave to tight curls. The natural color varies from light brown to black. We have it available in color 1b, which is a muted black. My company sell's hair by the ounce and by the bundle. Bundles contain aprox. 3.5 ounces of hair.

Indian hair and curly Indian hair is popular because of its texture. I have women of all ethnic backgrounds buy this hair, but it is more popular within the African American community. The curly version of this hair is natural and ethically-sourced, which means the curl texture can’t be promised. Sometimes the hair comes in with a loose curl and other times with a very tight curl. If you are seeking a specific texture simply call me. I can seek out hair of this type to meet your specific texture needs.
