Do You Need A New Hairstyle?

We here at Pelo Hair Los Angeles take pride in selling the BEST and most ethically-sourced hair extensions. In fact, we have celebrity fans and our products are sold in Beverly Hills, California. Speaking of celebrities, we want to talk about the celebrity short hair trend right now. The ‘Miley’ Cyrus haircut seems to be hotter than ever. So, what happens when it is time to move on to something else? Do you deal with the grow out of the hair style or do you add extensions.

There is no right or wrong answer but hair extensions can be added to make your hair shoulder length, not just super long. Here are a few popular shoulder length hair trends for 2014:

First is the shag cut with bangs.

Because there are so many layers associated with this haircut, it is the perfect style to add in length and grow out the ‘Miley’. You can add chunky bang extensions, or simply grow out your own bangs comfortably with this look.

This chunky bob allows enough layers to add in hair extensions without an obvious statement.

You can gradually grow your hair out with this look, which also adds a younger appearance to any style.

Finally, there is the gradual A-line bob.

You may not be able to do an A-line when you start to grow out your hair. However, extensions only in the front can give way for the illusion of a true A-line bob.

The New Pelo Hair Los Angeles is Up!

Our new website is up. As I explained in yesterday’s blog, I wanted to go with a more sleek and modern feel. While I truly believe the former website was beautiful and offered tons of information, our customers wanted a quicker shopping option. One of the newest options is the ability to share your purchase using your social media account! Let me show you around the new website:

Our celebrity fans section is always updated showing where our products were featured, what celeb is Tweeting about us, who was visiting our flagship store, and much more. Make sure to check it out.

Finally, we have our new store below. As you can see all of our products are laid out by category.

Finally, we are shipping all of our products via U.S.P.S. When you click on Shipping Cart / Bag, you are provided with a shipping option that meets your needs and budget. Plus, you can see if your state has any required taxes. You are also asked to create an account, which will save your product preferences for the next time you want to shop with us.

Until next time – Happy Shopping,

New website coming this week

Our new website is almost here and we can’t wait. I wanted to improve our shopping experience and make the website more socially acceptable. That’s why I decided to keep our logo and branding but incorporate a new look.

Now, when you buy hair extensions from Pelo Hair Los Angeles, you can order the color, the length and the quantity in a single click, not multiple clicks like before. You can also share your purchase on Pinterest or Twitter!

We are still offering the same great, ethically-sourced hair extension products. You can always call us and talk to one of our team members before ordering the hair extensions to make sure you are purchasing the best products for your specific look. This doesn’t change.

Additionally, I decided to offer monthly specials, which means you can check back with the new website each and every month to see what is on sale and what is new.

Our New Hair Extension Shopping Cart

We have a new way to buy hair online. First, we included a 1-2-3 system that allows you to start off by selecting your current hair color and then we provide products available within your hue. Second, you can select the product and read the description. Third, simply pick your length and click to buy.

We also now offer direct PayPal buttons that allow you to buy multiple quantities of hair upon checkout. Simply pick out a product, pick out a length and pick out a color. When you click “buy now” you are taken to a checkout page that allows you to enter in your zip code and calculate the final costs. Additionally, you can enter a quantity of the hair product you want if you plan on purchasing more than one bundle or ounce of hair.

Still have questions or need to send in a custom order? No problem- just call us at the store or click here to upload your photo and question; www.Pelo-Hair.com.

Why A Woman's Hair Will Thin

I created Pelo Hair Los Angeles to provide women with beautiful and real hair options. Some women use our products to add length to their hair. Other women use our products to add color or volume to their hair. More and more women, however, are starting to use our tape hair products to help conceal thinning hair. While I'm the process of developing a signature product for these women, we still sell the tape hair at our flagship store or via phone orders (sorry, this hair isn't online as of yet). You can read more about the different hair options here: http://www.pelo-hair.com/

But why does hair thin in the first place?

A couple of reasons are behind a woman's thinning hair. First, and more common, are medical reasons. Medication, illness, infection, or chemicals all have the potential to stop hair from being formed properly. Most people lose anywhere from 50 to 100 strands of hair each day, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. If you see more hair than usual on your brush or pillow, it can be a sign that something medically is going on- especially if you're under 50 years old. Most dermatologists suggest women, concerned with hair loss or thinning hair, allow their doctors to run preliminary blood work to make sure the thyroid gland or an autoimmune disease isn’t the culprit behind a loss or hair.

Alopecia could also be a cause. This is a hereditary condition that affects about 30 million American women, according to the America Academy of Dermatology, and is the most common kind of hair loss for women of any age. General hair abuse is quite common, too. Braids that are too tight, dying one's hair too often, and the overuse of heat products and tools all will cause hair to fallout without a medical or hereditary cause.

Get to the root of the problem today! If you're experiencing hair loss / hair thinning, call your doctor. Even if you believe it is caused by hair abuse, call your doctor. It is better to be safe than sorry. If it is a hormone issue or an autoimmune issue knowing about sooner verses later is always better.
