The New Pelo Hair Los Angeles is Up!

Our new website is up. As I explained in yesterday’s blog, I wanted to go with a more sleek and modern feel. While I truly believe the former website was beautiful and offered tons of information, our customers wanted a quicker shopping option. One of the newest options is the ability to share your purchase using your social media account! Let me show you around the new website:

Our celebrity fans section is always updated showing where our products were featured, what celeb is Tweeting about us, who was visiting our flagship store, and much more. Make sure to check it out.

Finally, we have our new store below. As you can see all of our products are laid out by category.

Finally, we are shipping all of our products via U.S.P.S. When you click on Shipping Cart / Bag, you are provided with a shipping option that meets your needs and budget. Plus, you can see if your state has any required taxes. You are also asked to create an account, which will save your product preferences for the next time you want to shop with us.

Until next time – Happy Shopping,

New website coming this week

Our new website is almost here and we can’t wait. I wanted to improve our shopping experience and make the website more socially acceptable. That’s why I decided to keep our logo and branding but incorporate a new look.

Now, when you buy hair extensions from Pelo Hair Los Angeles, you can order the color, the length and the quantity in a single click, not multiple clicks like before. You can also share your purchase on Pinterest or Twitter!

We are still offering the same great, ethically-sourced hair extension products. You can always call us and talk to one of our team members before ordering the hair extensions to make sure you are purchasing the best products for your specific look. This doesn’t change.

Additionally, I decided to offer monthly specials, which means you can check back with the new website each and every month to see what is on sale and what is new.

Hair Extentions 101 ; Ordering Online

Since the 2014 Academy Awards are almost here. There are two sub – categories of hair extensions; synthetic and human hair. Synthetic here does not look real and is never used by celebrities. It also does not last long. Unlike synthetic hair, human hair is often used by celebrities, flash a long time, and looks completely natural. Some people have questions about the ethics surrounding sourcing human hair extensions. We here at Pelo Hair Los Angeles only used ethically – sourced hair.

There are different kinds of extensions, different types of hair, different formats as to how the hair extensions are added to your own hair. Weaves, heat fusing, clamping with metal rods, and I – tips are some of the most popular methods.

You have to find the right texture and color in a hair extension product order for your hair to look its best to be able to seal the fact that you are wearing hair extensions. Luckily, our website offers and upload photo option that allows customers to upload not only a photo of themselves, but a photo of a celebrity or other picture with the look they are trying to achieve. Once you do this, our team of qualified beauty consultants – not salespeople – will call or email you back with different product suggestions and pricing. Ordering hair on our website is not a complicated process.

You can also submit your hair extension questions below and I will personally respond to each and every one of them.

Dry Your Hair Extensions Quicker

One questions I am asked often is about the time it takes for extensions to dry after they're washed. Well, we suggest hanging your extensions over a towel and letting them air dry naturally. While this method is ideal, it isn't always practical, which is why we here at Pelo Hair Los Angeles are providing a few tips to quickly drying hair extensions when the towel method isn't an option.

1. Brush the hair with a wide comb when wet to remove most of the moisture. Do not use a brush.

2. Blot the hair with a towel. Repeat ten times in a row.

3. Blow dry the hair with a cool blow dryer, not hot.

TIP: Garnier Fructis has a great line of "blow dry protector" products. While the above method should only be used in a hair-emergency, it is a great idea to keep a Garnier Fructis product on hand. We also have a private label product for detangling hair that is great for after a regular air dry process or blow dry method on hair extensions.

So, keep sending in those great hair extension questions. They really are great.
